Everybody who’s studied in DU will tell you that living in a PG in South Campus feels somewhat different from one in North Campus. Mostly because South Campus is more residential and less student area-ish. That’s why things seem less cramped up and the expenses are on a slightly higher side.
But South or North, the things you should expect out of a PG are exactly the same. And we know that because at Stanza Living, we build and manage our own co-living spaces for young folks like you. In fact, we’re India’s leading managed accommodation network. And guess where we started from? Well, right here in North and South Campus. Basically, we’ve known the rental scene in Delhi for years. And that’s also why you should read our list of must-have PG facilities made just for you. Now read on, friend.
So what are the things I should look for in hostels near South Campus?

Air-conditioning and necessary furniture
First things first, please get a room with an AC, pls. Because if you haven’t lived in Delhi before, you should know it gets really – we mean REALLY – hot during the summers. Now, also some may suggest you can get an AC on rent. But here’s the thing, most local rental ACs are just too old and eat up a lot of electricity too. So find a PG that includes an AC. That way, at least, you won’t have to worry about the repair and maintenance.
Daily Meals
No hate to Poha lovers, but you don’t want to have it served every morning, right? Well, that’s why it’s an important thing to find out a bit about the daily meals offered by a prospective PG. So ask the landlord about the weekly menu, ratio of veg and non veg meals, and other things that might seem crucial to you.
Regular Housekeeping
You won’t have much time to take care of your room everyday. That’s just how it is given today’s fast-paced life. So having a housekeeping service in your PG will help you out a lot. Same goes for the common areas. Any PG you move into should do the bare minimum of keeping everything neat and tidy. If it doesn’t, you should start looking for other options.
Laundry Facilities
Sure, you’ll find a laundromat in every other neighbourhood in South Campus, but the problem is the extra monies. So if you’re choosing to stay in a PG, you should expect it to provide a washing machine for common use or have a rent-inclusive service for getting your dirty clothes washed and pressed for you. Keep that in mind.
Wi-Fi
Obviously, Wi-Fi is one of the basic facilities that a PG must have. But then again, not every PG has it or even if it does, it has one that’s super duper slow. So it’s why when you go out there to hunt PGs, make sure you ask the broker or the PG owner about the speed and all. That’s about it.
