The Pepper House Cafe is housed in a colonial style building which was an actual pepper warehouse during the Portuguese Era. Plus, they have a small library, a museum and of course, some great food. We suggest you try their Grilled Aubergine. And yes, it sounds really fancy until you realise ‘aubergine’ is just the french word for our ‘brinjals’.

‘East India Cafe Fort Kochi’ is quite popular for both tourists and locals. And like the Pepper House Cafe, it is housed in an old warehouse too. Except, this one’s from the British era. Not many cafes in Kochi are as quaint as the Mocha Art Cafe. The decor includes dutch style windows, a beautiful vertical garden, and old-school furniture. And again, it was once an old warehouse dating back to the 16th century. Basically, Coachinites are even more fascinated with empty warehouses than bank robbers in every heist movie ever.
